Italesse Academy is a project that represents a natural evolution of our journey, born from the meeting of research, innovation, and wine culture. In recent years, through the work carried out with Italesse Senses and the T-made Lab, we have helped redefine the role of the glass: no longer a simple container, but a true technical tool capable of influencing sensory perception and enhancing the expression of terroir.
This approach has led to the creation of products such as the T-made 70, the official glass of the Brunello di Montalcino Consortium; the T-made 95, the official glass of the Ribolla Gialla producers of Oslavia; and the T-made 75 and 76 AV, respectively designed for Barolo and Amarone della Valpolicella. These have gained significant recognition both in the professional world and on the market.
Today, this body of expertise is taking shape in a structured project focused on education and knowledge sharing.
This is how Italesse Academy comes to life, with the aim of promoting a more conscious wine culture and a deeper understanding of professional glassware, through masterclasses, educational experiences, and collaborations with some of the most authoritative players in the industry: wineries, Michelin-starred restaurants, training institutions, and specialized media.
Italesse Academy is not just an educational initiative, but a true cultural platform, built on a clear belief: the value of wine also—and increasingly—depends on the quality of the tools used to present and interpret it.
The Philosophy of the Sensory Glass
Wine is born from a complex and unique system, where the elements of the terroir and the winemaking choices intertwine to shape each vintage. With the same level of design precision, the glass also becomes a fundamental tool of interpretation: not merely a container, but an element capable of concretely enhancing the organoleptic qualities of wine.
This perspective is shared by Cristina Mercuri, a Master of Wine and the first woman in Italy to earn this title, as well as Italesse Brand Ambassador. She has long been committed to promoting a conscious and comprehensive wine culture and now advocates an approach that recognizes the glass as an essential tool for fully expressing and enhancing the tasting experience.
The Shapes of Tasting
Each glass is born from a precise balance between form and function, shaped by the study of geometry and materials designed to enhance sensory perception and the organoleptic qualities of individual wines. This ongoing design research aims to support a complete tasting experience, where the emotion of the gesture meets high-level technical tools.
